Hey IT Hiring Managers! MSPs Can Be Your Friend

By ATR International |   Wed, Aug 20, 2014 @ 08:17 AM

Depending on who you talk to it can seem as though MSPs are the answer to everything or the worst idea ever. Most people’s opinions fall more reasonably on the spectrum, but where you land likely depends on what your role is and how you interact with an MSP. Procurement professionals are more obvious champions while hiring managers and suppliers might give mixed reviews. If you’re an IT manager working with an MSP you’ve certainly got your own opinion – a bane, a boon, or a little of both?

We Don't Want Your Business and Here's Why

By ATR International |   Tue, Jul 23, 2013 @ 08:52 AM

We recently had an experience that doesn’t happen all the time – we decided not to submit a proposal in response to an RFP that we received. Sounds crazy to turn down the opportunity for work but it really isn’t. We (and I’m sure others) do it more than you might think, though not often. Deciding which opportunities are right for your company is one of the most important things you can learn to do in business. Indiscriminately chasing every lead or potential client isn’t a smart idea; sometimes it means you lose money on the job or that you’re trying to deliver services outside of your true area of expertise. Good software and well run programs that are embraced by hiring managers can improve efficiency and results while reducing costs. Bad programs range from ineffective to costly; if your systems are complex and cumbersome and your processes are too restrictive and inflexible, managers may grudgingly comply until they find ways around it. Efficiencies will be ephemeral and cost savings short-lived.
